Darwin, East Point Reserve
Opened in November 2019, the East Point Street Workout in Darwin is Australia’s largest inclusive outdoor calisthenics facility. Featuring nearly 200m² of accessible workout space, the project was delivered with support from the NT Government and Darwin City Council. Purpose-built for all abilities, it includes wheelchair-accessible equipment, a disability ramp, and adjacent parking at East Point Reserve.

Opened in November 2019, the East Point Street Workout (EPSW) is the largest and most inclusive outdoor bodyweight exercise station in Australia. Located at East Point Reserve in Darwin, the facility spans close to 200 square metres and was purpose-built to support people of all abilities, including wheelchair users. EPSW features a wide range of equipment such as multi-bars, dip bars, ring bars, vertical and horizontal ladders, and accessible components like a wheelchair chin-up/dip combo and ramp access directly from disability parking bays.
The project was led by Bar Brothers & Sisters Darwin (now Forward Health NT Inc) and supported by the Northern Territory Government, City of Darwin, Total Recreation NT, and the Office of the Chief Minister. Funded through the Community Benefit Fund and City of Darwin grants, it received widespread community backing, including over 300 petition signatures. The Heart Foundation of Australia conducted an independent case study on the project, recognising its positive impact on public health, inclusion, and community activation.
